p>Operational Advisor (Finance) - 6 Month Initial Contract (with extension opportunity) - 147 - 160 a day (Inside IR35) - Hybrid Working (WFH and Edinburgh based office) - Public Sector

This Operational Advisor (Admin Officer) post is responsible for aspects of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Treasury. This role forms part of the Governance & Operational Finance team which has a focus on:

  • the management and control of all transactional processing (accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury and payroll)
  • production of the returns, annual accounts and other statutory returns
  • managing the design, implementation and supervision of financial controls to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and integrity of systems and processes

Key tasks will include but will not be limited to:

  • Dealing with payroll updates, conducting variance checks
  • Processing manual expenses claims
  • Making supplier payments
  • Posting bank transactions and income
  • Credit Control
  • Routine and non-routine enquires in all areas

Essential Skills include:

  • Proven administrative experience within a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Practical experience working in a finance role in at least two of the following areas: Sales Ledger; Purchase Ledger; Payroll; Treasury & Expenses.
  • Experience and knowledge of core accounting principles including basic reconciliations and the preparation of journals
  • Ability to produce complex spreadsheets, and support management in the production and dissemination of routine reports as needed
  • HNC in business administration, or SCQF Level 7 equivalence via Professional Development Awards; Higher Education Certificates; Modern Apprenticeships; and SVQs
