Security Engineer - Security Consultant - InfoSec Consultant -Azure - Cardiff - 1 day p/w onsite in Cardiff



£550-650 p/d - Inside IR35 - via an accredited umbrella company



My client looking to onboard an experienced contract Security Engineer to join an Security Management Team defining company wide information security strategies, standards and policies. You will report to the Group Head of Security and assist with strategic security engineering functions, alongside monitoring compliance with security requirements and addressing any security issues.



6 month initial contract - extensions highly likely



Main responsibilities include:




  • Maintenance and support of security measures for the business systems

  • Providing technical security support to projects and other requests from the business

  • Enhance threat intelligence, security logging, monitoring and alerting through optimisation automation into security platforms

  • Improve threat hunting, incident analysis and response capabilities.

  • Review & improve Network Security - network segmentation, certificate management & DNS security.

  • Review & improve Microsoft E5 investment and Microsoft Azure security.



Skills & Experience




  • A demonstrable background as a Hands-on Security Engineer/Security Consultant/InfoSec Consultant from within large global enterprises

  • Relevant, Information Security and Information Technology knowledge. Ideally hold relevant Security/InfoSec certifications (CIGE, CIST, CIAM, CIMP, CAMS, CAP, CISSP, etc.)

  • Microsoft Certifications focussed on security (eg Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate/Identity and Access Administrator Associate)

  • Technical knowledge in one or more of the following - Unix, AIX, Linux, Windows, Oracle, F5, WAF Cisco, Palo Alto, Azure, AWS, Google.

  • Experience of SIEM maintenance, security event investigation and analysis.

  • Experience of one or more in Defender, Nessus, ELK, Burp suite, Imperva, Zscaler or other security compliance tooling and their enterprise implementation highly desirable.

  • Experience of supporting an Identity and Access Management suites and their enterprise implementation, including API security, RBAC, ABAC desirable.

  • Relevant network knowledge of security using Cisco, Palo Alto, F5 technologies and Microsoft Advanced security features

  • Ideally have good experience of Azure Cloud and DevOps

  • Be able to act as a point of contact for engagement with management, key stakeholders, 3rd parties & suppliers

  • Have excellent communication skills
