To be considered for the role you will ideally have strong public sector experience.
Duties and responsibilities: -
* Undertake the support of networks, covering routine housekeeping/maintenance/backup duties, configuration management, change management and problem management.
* Assist in the strategic planning and development of new Network communications services
* Project manage the assessment, planning and implementation of communication networks.
* Undertake the development, planning, and implementation of communication networks.
* Provide advice and consultancy on the procurement, implementation, operation and maintenance of communication networks.
* Take day-to-day responsibility for specific development work on network and computer systems.
Skills and experience: -
* Degree in Computing or equivalent commercial experience
* CCNA
* Substantial communication network administration experience
* Substantial experience in delivery of Back Office infrastructure support to users in a distributed environment
* Management and direction of technically competent staff
* Significant breadth of technical expertise built up from "hands on" operations and managing diverse applications and systems across a multi-site organisation
* In depth, specialist knowledge and experience of all the following:
- Local, Wide and Cloud network technologies
- Software Defined networks
- Client and server architectures
- Cloud architectures
- Secure and Next Generation Firewall architectures
- Device Management Tools
- IP Voice and Collaboration
* Working knowledge of Microsoft OS and tools, including Group Policy management
* Remote access management
This is a really exciting opportunity to join a very well established IT project team during a period of change.
The contract element will fall in scope for IR35 and will need to operate through an umbrella company. The rates quoted are payable to the Umbrella company and will incur deductions.
