Network Consultant / Network Architect

Contract. 8-9 weeks initially

Predominantly remote with occasional travel to Edinburgh or London

Public Sector

Contract via Umbrella Company - circa 650 - 750 per day

Our IT Consultancy Client is currently seeking an experienced Network Consultant to join their team on a project to support a Network Transformation for one of their public sector clients. Candidates must have demonstrable experience in Network strategy, performance, operations and procurement within the Public Sector.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Review the Network current state.
  • Identify & recommend all options for future network services.
  • Develop a strategic plan for Network Services moving forward.

To be successful in this role, our client is seeking candidates with the following knowledge & experience:

  • Extensive experience in Network management, architecture or consultancy with in-depth knowledge across network strategy and maturity, with a focus on Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Networks (LAN), Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi service) and Secure Gateways etc.
  • Strong network performance & operations expertise with the ability to review & assess the network current state.
  • Previous experience in public sector procurement options for Managed Network Services (in particular CCS NS3), and the ability to lead a public sector procurement for managed IT services.
  • Exposure to Stakeholders across all levels of the business with first class communication skills and the ability to build strong engagement & buy-in around new ideas & strategies.
  • A good understanding of financial aspects, in respect of managed IT services.
  • Experience in large-scale WAN transformations would be advantageous.
