Siemens is creating its first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire. With an initial contract to assemble nearly 50 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit up to 300 skilled technical and support colleagues in our Manufacturing Facility. In the near future follow-on work is expected to bring this number of trains into the hundreds, along with an expansion on the site into maintenance and overhaul activities displaying a long-term commitment to the area and growth in employment and career opportunities.
We are looking for a MRP Buyer to join our Logistics team in Goole. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cost-efficient and on-time supply of materials, according to scheduled demand.
You will make an impact: You will form part of a team responsible for successfully processing purchase requests and then ensuring the on-time arrival of material on site. You will engage with various other parties (both internal and external) in the supply chain to improve the flow of material, communicating or raising concerns as appropriate. You will have a keen eye for detail, be comfortable analysing data and be able to relay and receive information from a variety of sources.
You will demonstrate: A strong working knowledge of the material purchasing process, from purchase order to product delivery. Data analysis and I.T. skills, with SAP / Excel knowledge advantageous. Excellent communication and people skills, with an eye for detail.
