Job Description: The University of Portsmouth seeks an Embedded AI/ML Scientist for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with ABL 1Touch, focusing on developing an AI-powered system for vehicle damage assessment and repair scheduling. Key Responsibilities:

The Project

This will be part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), which is a collaborative project between ABL1Touch group and the University of Portsmouth, awarded by Innovate UK. Find out more about Knowledge Transfer Partnerships here: https://www.ktp-uk.org/

You will be joining a friendly team based at ABL1 Touch in Southampton. In the role, you will be actively supported by KTP Advisor, KTP Support team and Academic experts at the University of Portsmouth.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity open to a candidate with a solid foundation in AI and software development, who is enthusiastic about working on innovative technology within a supportive commercial environment, while also developing leadership and project management skills. The post will provide the individual with an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the company’s innovation policy. The successful applicant will be highly motivated and able to demonstrate some previous successful experience in a relevant role.

This is a fixed term contract for 36 months, working 40 hours per week 8:30am – 5pm Monday – Friday. The holiday allowance is 20 days plus 8 public holidays, the holiday year runs 01 August – 31 July. The interviews are anticipated to be held on 24 July 2025.
