Overview Of Team Purpose

Business Marketing is a large and diverse team of expert marketers. We provide the Grow London directorate and London Convention Bureau team with comprehensive marketing services. We engage and inspire business audiences to choose London and London & Partners. Our work includes marketing strategy and planning, creative campaigns and 'always on' marketing, lead generation, event collateral, marketing insights and reporting. Target audiences include high-growth London-based companies seeking international expansion, international companies ready to set up in London and event organisers.

Purpose of the role

Supporting the Head of Business Marketing, you will provide marketing services, primarily working on key business activity such as London Tech Week. You will also oversee and manage marketing for London Convention Bureau and manage one marketing executive who supports Grow London & London Convention Bureau. You will produce and deliver marketing plans and high-quality marketing materials. You will ensure all output is on brand with data and audience insights at the heart of everything you do. You will work in a fast-paced and positive environment, to develop and implement marketing and communications plans across a range of reactive and strategically planned opportunities in print, media, events and online. This is a hands-on role requiring strong relationships with stakeholders, partners and supporting delivery teams at all levels.

Key Tasks

  • Shape and deliver cross-channel marketing and communication strategies, plans and approaches to meet marketing objectives and targets
  • Work proactively and collaborate with wider teams to identify opportunities, generate leads, build awareness and create engagement with the programmes, ensuring that activity is impactful and aligned
  • Deliver marketing initiatives and opportunities with key internal and external stakeholders, partners and influencers
  • Create content and storytelling, working with content and design specialists where required. This includes impact reports and thought leadership, drawing on the work of the insights team and sector experts
  • Collate engaging and effective collateral to meet the needs of target audiences and support the full customer journey through the programmes and an alumni community
  • Social media posting and advertising when required (X, LinkedIn and Instagram), working with the wider team to optimise and align
  • Collaborate with the Comms team to produce press releases, op-eds and thought leadership pieces, driving media coverage for the business programmes and, by extension, London & Partners
  • Create high-impact messaging and collateral (both digital and print) outlining the key strengths of the programmes
  • Deliver campaigns and activity on time and within budget
