An excellent opportunity has become available for an Manufacturing Engineer to join the Process Planning Team where you will be responsible for planning, developing and innovating new and existing processes lean principles. You will support production associates and leaders in specific skilled elements of our processes, providing experience, guidance training.
Key Accountabilities:
Project planning, creating, monitoring and managing multiple projects to achieve time and financial requirements
Presenting project / situation status, ideas and plans
Articulating complex ideas and situations to non-technical personnel
Attending daily Work Organisation meetings when required, assisting with and leading problem solving activities
Having a conscious approach to business, understanding the impact to quality, cost and time and being able to provide strong business cases
Researching and developing process technologies as part of continuous improvements or assigned projects
Guiding the development of standard operating instructions, training, checking and validating effectiveness
Contribute and be an active member in reviewing existing and developing new processes through the use of industry standard methods and tools
Provide a high quality, responsive service to the production teams
Be an active participant in VPS (lean) development for processes and systems
Skills & Qualifications
Experience within a low volume, high mix production environment, specifically technical support, process engineering, systems engineering or manufacturing engineering
Conversant with industry standard process methods and tools; lean manufacturing techniques, PFMEA, control plans, value stream maps
Strong project management and planning skills, able to manage and prioritise multiple priorities.
Experience in wood craft or carbon fibre technologies would be a significant advantage
Experience in the procurement of both standard and bespoke industrial equipment.
Highly logical and able to assimilate large amounts of disparate information to formulate conclusions, plans and actions.
Excellent organisational , presentation and problem solving skills
Highly effective communication skills, written, verbal and non-verbal. Confident at communicating at all levels and the ability to perform in challenging situations.
Must work effectively with all internal departments as well as creating strong relationships with external suppliers
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft packages), CAD, Microsoft Project (or equivalent) strong understanding of machine control logic; programming experience an advantage
