Luxury Automotive Quality and Reliability Analysis Engineer



Location: Predominantly Crewe (Bentley postcode) with possibility to work from home occasionally with prior agreement.



Must hold valid passport with ability to travel overseas on occasion.



2 year Contract



Typically 40 45 hours per week Mon Fri



Rate 35 - 45 / hr via umbrella company (Inside IR35) or 28 - 36 PAYE.



Role



The purpose of the role is to support the testing activities of reliability programs for pre-series Luxury vehicles.



The main deliverable is expert customer focused evaluation of pre-series reliability vehicles together with the analysis and reporting of functional defects identified during the reliability testing process.



The scope of the role also includes defining the technical requirements in terms of vehicles, test profiles and test methodology appropriate to identifying functional product defects in pre-series vehicles.





Key Tasks



Analysis of issues and verification of solutions.



Understand and compile a problem statement, to determine probable point of cause and to assess the issue for escalation / allocation to an appropriate problem owner.



Interpret, analyse and summarise logged traces of complex vehicle bus data to enable robust functional problem statements prior to allocating to problem owner.



Proactively monitor the status of reliability issues and escalate / prioritise issues with potential high customer / warranty impact.



Specify appropriate reliability testing criteria and vehicle usage profiles to identify potential functional defects.



Perform expert static and dynamic assessment of drive event vehicles.



Critically assess all issues raised during the event preparation drive and propose a list of critical issues to be reported.

Effective presentation and communication of technical problems to all levels up to Members of the Board

Ability to lead complex problem solving teams



Ability to influence problem owners and suppliers within area of technical responsibility



Advanced knowledge of vehicle development and industrialization



Able to apply knowledge of customer behaviour and expectations to develop vehicle test requirements



Able to gather and interrogate vehicle electrical network data to identify problem root cause



Advanced knowledge of problem solving tools



Strong PC skills Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook



Data analysis skills -  ODIS, VAS, MDF viewer (data logger analysis tools) & MDA





Qualifications



Engineering degree or equivalent.



Associate membership of a relevant professional institution preferable.



Current driving license.





The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate existing skills and experience in this specific role environment within a Premium and Luxury Automotive Manufacturer.





Based in the Crewe area, this role is commutable from, Winsford, Nantwich, Northwich, Chester, Wrexham, Whitchurch, Congleton, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Stoke on Trent, amongst many other areas of Cheshire and Staffordshire regions.
