p>We are currently looking to recruit a LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer) in Wigan.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide a comprehensive safeguarding service to colleagues working or volunteering in any child care setting, including schools, pre-schools, nurseries and any organisation making provision for children
  • Co-ordination and delivery of child protection training to the education sector and to contribute to the work of the Waltham Forest Safeguarding Children Board
  • Support and address issues related to child protection and safeguarding within schools, colleges, early years education environments and council transport
  • Work with Governors, Head Teachers, Manging Directors, Trustees, Sole Traders and staff to ensure appropriate policy, procedure and guidance in schools (and other settings) is implemented
  • Contribute to the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer and support the LADO in the investigation, oversight and management of allegations against staff/volunteers/approved carers in all settings, including investigations in relation to transport and risk assessment around transport related issues
  • Provide information advice and training to early years and childcare providers

Experience preferred:

  • Previously working in an extensive post qualifying role

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1 year experience in a similar role within the UK
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
