Responsibilities include:
- Provide a comprehensive safeguarding service to colleagues working or volunteering in any child care setting, including schools, pre-schools, nurseries and any organisation making provision for children
- Co-ordination and delivery of child protection training to the education sector and to contribute to the work of the Waltham Forest Safeguarding Children Board
- Support and address issues related to child protection and safeguarding within schools, colleges, early years education environments and council transport
- Work with Governors, Head Teachers, Manging Directors, Trustees, Sole Traders and staff to ensure appropriate policy, procedure and guidance in schools (and other settings) is implemented
- Contribute to the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer and support the LADO in the investigation, oversight and management of allegations against staff/volunteers/approved carers in all settings, including investigations in relation to transport and risk assessment around transport related issues
- Provide information advice and training to early years and childcare providers
Experience preferred:
- Previously working in an extensive post qualifying role
Minimum Requirements:
- 1 year experience in a similar role within the UK
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
