Location; Wiltshire or Derbyshire

Linux engineer required with active SC experience to support Linux (RedHat/SUSE), environments (HPC modules). In addition to the support components of the assignment, you'll also be helping with design and implementation of new, state of the art HPC systems.

Responsibilities:

• Provision of ongoing support for RHEL and SUSE Linux systems and applications.
• Diagnosis and repair of physical faults (eg disk corruption or component failure).
• Troubleshoot software/OS problems within the systems and applications, and either implement a fix or inform the end user on how to proceed.
• Investigate/implement requests for change (eg new software or configuration changes)
• Ensure applications and/or codes run on these systems do not pose security threats to the system.
• Monitor performance and usage of the systems through creation of automated scripts.

Essential requirements:

• SC Clearance
• Experience in Linux HPC

Desirable:

• Experience working within the UK MOD
