IT Project Manager - Outside IR35

Contract Term: 6 Months     

Contracting Authority: The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office

Location: London/Hybrid

The Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) Transition and Deployment Project Manager is part of a team responsible for undertaking the management of and the delivery of c.519 IT Network/Infrastructure circuits in over 153 countries for the Foreign and Commonwealth and Development Office and the British Council. One of the key aspects of the role is working with the DPS Project Manager to assist in project managing the delivery of a subset of the circuits on the incumbent supplier's platform and managing a wide variety of Suppliers and Stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition at each site around the world.

As an IT Project Manager your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Supporting the management of a plan that captures all activity from DPS procurement and delivery through to the final transition and cutover at each site.
  • Managing relationships with multiple stakeholders and suppliers within the Programme environment to ensure successful delivery and the meeting of ECHO 2 objectives.
  • Support identifying and management of risks and RAID items in line with the agreed Programme process and escalating where appropriate.
  • Providing updates and reporting to support Programme Assurance, including production of high impact dashboards and highlight reports as required by the DPS Lead.
  • Participate in cross-functional workshops as required.
  • Supporting the management of Project finances including budgets and budget control using department ERP system.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider Programme team.
  • Attending meetings with Suppliers and Customer representatives throughout the lifecycle of ECHO 2.
  • Developing a plan for ongoing delivery of ISP circuits through the DPS function while in run.
  • Maintain and promote the delivery standards and processes as outlined within the PRINCE2 and APMP frameworks. 

 

You ll have relevant experience in: 

  • Current Valid un-caveated SC clearance and British National.
  • Experience of supporting the delivery of large scale, complex IT projects.
  • Broad understanding and knowledge of Commercial and Procurement processes.
  • Expected to be self-driven and motivated.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills including MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Exposure to a variety of project management and delivery methodologies and techniques, both Waterfall and Agile.
  • Professional PPM Qualification of PRINCE 2 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of IT Networks and Infrastructure deployment.
  • Managed the delivery of a commercial or procurement IT Project or Programme
