This Head of Legal position is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a start up/ scale up Not for Profit business, initially on a 6-12 month FTC.
This role requires someone to build new legal, risk and compliance processes alongside the compliance lead and supporting the CFO in managing legal risk within the organisation and making their legal function fit for the future.
This role is the first legal hire to the organisation and will require someone with robust experience in the following areas and have the following competencies:
Comemrcial legal matters
Corporate and Governance
Compliance and Data protection
Ability to adapt to charity law, manage external counsel and liaising with charities commision on matters
Legal operations and mapping out new processes and bring them to life
Building strong relationships with a variety of legal functions
Experience in an international setting (working with diverse cultures and connecting with international partners and colleagues)
Experience working in a start up or scale up environment OR experience in fast paced environment with changing priorities and where you have seen significant growth or change
Be a head of legal or General counsel who is used to working on strategic elements as well as doing the day-to-legal matters.
Experience in building a small legal function
Be a vibrant, energetic and approachable character and share the passion for this organisation and the work they do.

Remote working: The position will be based Central London however is highly remote 1 day in the office as a maximum requirement.
Availability: If you are able to start between Feb March 2024 this would be ideal.
Salary: Highly dependent on experience but very competitive for the NFP & Charity space
Duration: The contract will start as a 6-12 month FTC with strong possibilities of a permanent position opening.
