Job Description: This role as an Image Retrieval and Analysis Officer within Counter Terrorism Policing involves technical processes related to the retrieval and evaluation of CCTV and evidential imagery. The position requires a strong understanding of relevant legislation and the ability to work effectively under pressure. The ideal candidate will possess skills in information management and interpersonal communication to support criminal investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake technical processes in the retrieval, evaluation, and viewing of CCTV and other evidential imagery.
- Support counter terrorism and criminal investigations for both internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of NIM and proactive tasking.
- Maintain awareness of Health and Safety issues and the practical application of the Data Protection Act, RIPA, and ECHR.
- Organise, assess, and evaluate information quickly and accurately in high-pressure situations.
- Utilise interpersonal, negotiating, and influencing skills effectively.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge and experience of NIM and proactive tasking.
- Understanding of Health and Safety issues.
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act, RIPA, and ECHR.
- Awareness of computer parts/programs.
- Ability to maintain a computerised management information system.
- Strong organisational and evaluative skills.

In this role, you will undertake technical processes in the retrieval, evaluation and viewing of CCTV and other evidential imagery to the highest possible standard in order to support counter terrorism, criminal investigations for customers both within the policing family and externally. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of NIM and proactive tasking with an ability to demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety issues and knowledge/understanding of the practical application of the Data Protection Act, RIPA and ECHR. In addition, they should have an awareness of computer parts/programs with the ability to maintain a computerised management information system and an ability to organise, assess and evaluate information quickly and accurately in high pressure situations using interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills.
