ILS/IPS Maintenance Engineer
Location: Portsmouth (1-2 days on site per week)
Duration: 12 months
Rate: £37 per hour PAYE or £48.82 per hour Umbrella
Our client is seeking a ILS/IPS Maintenance Engineer to work on ship programme.
The successful candidate will:
- Apply proven analysis techniques to systems and develop maintenance and procedures to understand Support requirements and develop solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve issues and problems for a range of ILS/IPS Support related situations including FMECA, RCM Pre STW Analysis and Integration reviews
- Work with a degree of technical autonomy, demonstrates a commitment to professional ILS/IPS principles within the analysis or maintenance disciplines.
- Utilise knowledge and proven ability in an ILS/IPS subject area to support the project deliverables in the maintenance and analysis team.
- Develop and produce specific ILS/IPS outputs consistent with the contractual requirements to meet target dates and budget demands (Delivery to time, quality and budget).
- Understand the pre-requisite inputs from other disciplines and functions which enable maintenance outputs to be achieved and presented.
- Schedule own work to meet target schedule and cost demands.
- Validate the work of other engineers (peer review) and develop their technical skills and understanding of key functional and project deliverables.
- Communicate with customer representatives, classification authorities, suppliers and with other internal functions as necessary to discuss and resolve technical issues.
- Assist other team engineers to produce processes and instructions that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the ILS/IPS outputs.
Proven Ability / Key Skills
- Ability to apply understanding of a range of ILS/IPS processes, tools and techniques to the review of supplier data, design, components, systems and sub systems.
- Understand and develop solutions to common or well-articulated ILS/IPS Support situations, problems and issues.
- Analyse system failures and develop solutions utilising a range of ILS/IPS techniques.
- Diagnose and resolve issues and problems for a range of ILS/IPS Support related situations including FMECA, RCM Pre STW Analysis and Integration reviews
- Understanding of UMMS, RCM Toolkit, Def-Stan 00-45, 00-600, BR1313A is desirable

Due to the sensitive nature of the product all applicants must have worked within the Defence / Military industry within the last 12 months or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
