Assistant Highways Engineer The M25 pavement renewals team are looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Highways Engineer to join our team based in Waltham Cross, Enfield. Reporting to the Project manager and Principal engineer, you will involve in the design & delivery of concrete and bituminous road renewals schemes on the M25 network. This Assistant Highways Engineer role offers the opportunity to be involved with the design and construction of schemes as part of our integrated design and delivery team.
Essential Skills
- UK Design and construction experience within the highway sector
- Knowledge of AutoCAD & Civils3D
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of design standards including DMRB & MCDHW
- Commercial awareness in the delivery of projects
- Good knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety & Welfare & Environment in design and construction.
- Awareness / experience of Highway Authority standards
- Working knowledge of programming tools such as ASTA
- Computer literate particularly with packages such as Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience in undertaking asset condition surveys
- Prepare scheme designs, drawings and documents using a range of design software.
- Ensure that relevant standards are applied in accordance with national & contract specific criteria.
- Assist with undertaking designs and producing design packages and Works information construction. * Developing highway maintenance schemes through identifying of defects to determining treatments and producing construction documents * Updating and utilising Asset management systems * Assisting in the management and undertaking of highway condition inspections and surveys * Produce technical reports and other technical output to achieve project outcomes. * Undertake site visits, surveys and investigations. * Supporting the on-site construction team. * Utilise design software including 3D modelling. * Ensure work is undertaken in compliance with QSE standards and processes. * Working collaboratively with customers and other stakeholders to understand and develop project objectives and deliverables.
