We are currently seeking a Head of Geography to lead a secondary school\'s Geography department. This job is based in Sunderland. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the department and ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education in Geography.
Your new role
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Geography curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Manage the Geography department, including planning and delivering lessons, setting and marking assessments, and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including attending meetings, participating in school events, and supporting the school\'s vision and values.
What you\'ll need to succeed
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) and a degree in Geography or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Geography at secondary school level.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and the ability to keep up-to-date with developments in the field of Geography education
