New contract opportunity for a Firmware Design Engineer on an Inside IR35 contract in Harlow 2-3 days per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to develop and maintain ATMS s product portfolio and roadmap.

Responsibilities:

Working effectively within a multi-disciplined design team.

Develop requirements for new products.

Generate detailed designs for solutions that meet those requirements.

Consider the demands of other disciplines and functions within the design team.

Model concepts and assess solutions.

Verification and qualification of products to recognised industry standards and/or customer specific requirements.

Design and implement test solutions.

Support customer discussions.

Problem solving and process improvement.

Configuration of product designs and their controlled change.

Design products fit for manufacture.

Produce design documentation and reports for project artefacts/deliverables.

Essential Requirements:

Knowledge of Xilinx FPGAs, Experience of writing RTL code for FPGA and verification of FPGA using VHDL.

Use of Xilinx Vivado tools and Mentor Graphics/Siemens modelsim for simulation.

Broad Electronics knowledge, including Digital Signal Processor (DSP) systems.

Experience of high-speed digital interfaces, i.e. LVDS, JESD-204B, DDR.

Good and demonstrable problem-solving skills.

Innovative thinker with self-motivation.

Good communicator able to work with others.

 Eligible for or current holder of SC security clearance.

Desirable Requirements:

Experienced in MATLAB and Simulink for Model-Based Design (MBD).

Experience with embedded microprocessor cores (i.e. Xilinx Zynq) and working with microprocessor devices.

Knowledge of Schematic Capture Tools.
