Job Description: Historic England is seeking a Financial Systems Accountant to maintain and develop financial systems for the organization and its customers. The role involves leading financial systems reporting strategy, creating reports, and resolving support issues while collaborating with team members and software suppliers. This position is a 12-month fixed-term contract with hybrid working arrangements, requiring at least one day per week in the Swindon office. Key Responsibilities:

Please note, this role does not require you to be a qualified accountant but a knowledge of accountancy would be beneficial. This is a 12 month Fixed term Contract. This role is hybrid working with a minimum of one day per week in the Swindon office.

What You Will Be Doing

As our Financial Systems Accountant, you will help maintain and develop the organisation’s and our customers’ financial systems , develop reports and provide support to users as part of a shared service. You will lead on financial systems reporting strategy, including creating, maintaining and enhancing reports (using Crystal Reports and XQuery), as well as the Excel based management information system and other management reporting tools. To resolve support issues, you will Interrogate and manipulate the MS SQL database. Working with software suppliers, you will implement new releases, resolving software issues and identifying areas for improvement.
