Our client, a global energy and commodities firm is presently looking for a qualified Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Analyst to join their team in London on a contract basis.

Your responsibilities would include (but are not limited to):

• Assist in the preparation of UK financial statements in accordance with local standards. (currently consists of 39 UK entities).
• Assisting in the preparation of consolidated accounts.
• Assisting in the implementation of controls or systems that aid in financial statement preparation.
• Reconciling financial statements to accounting ledgers.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies.
• Having the ability to research and adapt to localized accounting standards.
• Preparation of technical papers detailing accounting for structured trades and other complex accounting matters if required.

You will need to have the following experience:

• Chartered accountant or ACA equivalent.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience working in an accountancy role preferably within financial services.
• Knowledge of US GAAP (not essential but desirable)
• Be able to work autonomously as well as in a small team.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
