Randstad Education are recruiting for an experienced and knowledgeable finance officer to work in a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Blackburn. The role is full time Monday to Friday, term time only.

As a school finance officer you will be able to provide high quality financial administrative support at all times by undertaking the day-to-day administration of the school's financial systems, and assist in the management of finance and resources within the school. In conjunction with the business manager and/or finance manager you will regularly report to budget holders, and will provide the head teacher and governing body with the necessary information to help them monitor the budget and make financial decisions. You will be able to work effectively as a member of the school's administrative team, and will possess excellent written and verbal communication and numeracy skills.

Benefits of the role:

  • Competitive daily rates - 12.50 - 13.50 per hour, dependent on experience.
  • Weekly pay.
  • AWR from week 13.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the day-to-day (operational) financial transactional needs of the school eg in terms of the processing of orders and invoices, cash and banking systems.
  • Supporting the production of both monthly and annual accounts.
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of school-related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information.
  • Assuring quality of information across the school.
  • Ensure the school has accurate information recorded and reported.
  • Additional duties as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Exceptional organisational abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and school management software including SIMS.
  • Experience working in a finance role.

Desirable Requirements:
