The Role

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join the finance team based at Wetherby. This role will report into the Plant Accountant on a temporary 12 month contract. The hours of work will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

The role will require the individual to perform routine and monthly tasks covering the following disciplines:

  • Supporting the month end closing process, including P&L and Balance Sheet postings and reconciliations to strict deadlines, in line with group policies.
  • Coordinate & provide support in the completion of monthly /quarterly stock counts.
  • Inter company Reconcile and agree balances monthly.
  • Internal Controls support with the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial controls in line with Group policies.
  • Purchasing: Raise and manage purchase orders and query resolution.
  • Assist and support the finance team as and when needed.


Key Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a junior finance role is desired but not essential.
  • Experience of month end close s/year ends and tight timelines.
  • Experience with SAP would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Microsoft office applications (Excel).
  • Must be highly motivated with a can do attitude.
  • Must be willing to challenge the status quo and have a continuous improvement mind set.
  • Be a strong team player and easy to deal with.
  • Good attention to detail.
