Ideal Recruit are looking for a Finance and Purchasing Administrator to join our client s company in Burnley. The successful candidate will be experienced and comfortable working in an office-based environment within a small team. You will be responsible for ensuring the finance and purchasing function runs smoothly and efficiently.

Finance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales invoicing.
  • Despatching orders and making sure the production schedule matches delivery notes and liaising with the Internal Sales and Engineering Teams if there are any issues.
  • Issuing Credit Notes.
  • Raising Commercial invoices for Export Sales and Supplier Returns.
  • Sending Customer Statements on the 1st of every month.
  • Chasing customer payments.
  • Customer quarterly rebates.
  • Issuing Agent commission statements.
  • Numbering Purchase invoices, matching to delivery notes and scanning/filing.
  • Checking Supplier statements to payment runs/invoices.
  • Bank Reconciliation Current, Commercial & Charge Cards.
  • VAT Return reconciling at month end to the VAT statements and quarterly filing with HMRC.
  • Reconciling the Deferred Duty statements.
  • Reconciling Petty Cash (monthly).
  • Checking & Approving staff expenses
  • Monitoring Customer credit insurance limits and doing customer credit checks.
  • Help prepare the month end accounts.

Purchasing

  • Place orders & request lead times from suppliers.
  • Monitor delivery dates and chase suppliers.
  • Book in deliveries.
  • Handle customs documentation, liaise with their Customs Agents.
  • Update and maintain the stock inventory system.
  • The team also covers Health & Safety for the company working with the Operations Manager to ensure that any Staff training, Risk Assessments, Policies etc are up to date and compliant.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a similar role essential
  • Efficient, articulate and process driven.
  • Experience of Xero or similar accounting systems.
  • Highly motivated and pro-active
  • Excellent communicator
  • Computer literate
