Job Title: Enterprise Architect
Contract: 6 months initially
Hybrid working: Birmingham
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Architect to contribute to the development of the University's overall strategy, with a specific focus on refining the IT strategy. The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing and maintaining technology capability maps, implementing application portfolio management, and identifying areas where architectural policies and standards need to be established.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
- Contribute to the development of the University strategy, ensuring alignment with IT objectives.
- Refine and enhance the IT strategy to support the overall organizational goals.
Technology Capability Mapping:
- Review and maintain technology capability maps, ensuring they accurately represent the organization's IT landscape.
Application Portfolio Management:
- Implement and oversee application portfolio management processes to optimize the use of technology resources.
Architectural Policies and Standards:
- Identify areas where architectural policies and standards are required.
- Propose a governance structure for the approval and enforcement of policies and standards.
Enterprise Architecture (EA) Tool Implementation:
- Implement an EA tool, defining the scope and cost of the service.
- Utilize the tool to enhance decision-making and strategic planning processes.
Architectural Blue-Print:
- Contribute to the development of the architectural blue-print, outlining the organization's future-state architecture.
Experience and Expertise:
- Demonstrate experience in developing EA capability for medium-sized organizations.
- Utilize knowledge of TOGAF and modelling languages (Archimate) to inform architectural decisions.
Policy Document Development:
- Leverage experience to write formal policy documents that align with industry best practices and organizational needs.
EA Governance:
- Develop and implement an effective EA governance framework to ensure the alignment of IT initiatives with organizational goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in enterprise architecture, particularly in medium-sized organizations.
- Certification in TOGAF is required.
- Proficiency in modelling languages, such as Archimate.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience in writing formal policy documents and establishing governance structures.
