Position Overview: 

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic English Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis, commencing in May 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring English lessons to students across various year groups, fostering a love for literature and language while maintaining high standards of academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a passion for English language and literature.
  • Assess student progress effectively and provide timely feedback to support their academic development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and curriculum enhancements.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities to enrich the educational experience of our students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English language and literature.
  • Experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a track record of inspiring and motivating students to achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to upholding the values and ethos of the school community.
