We are actively seeking an Engineering Project Manager to join our esteemed automotive client based in Cranfield. This is a compelling opportunity to contribute to a globally recognised automotive company, offering a long-term contract role that may extend over several years.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Project Ownership and Delivery:
Take charge of project Key Performance Indicators (QCT) with a proactive approach.
Monitor and communicate the development status of vehicles against quality, cost, and timing KPIs, implementing recovery actions as needed.
Lead preparation for Milestone Meetings, collaborating across functions to ensure a comprehensive understanding of development status and formulating recovery plans.


2. Coordination and Collaboration:
Coordinate cross-functional and cross-cultural global alliance activities.
Facilitate information sharing, resolution of engineering concerns, and cross-functional problem-solving with stakeholders.
Manage project manpower against budgets.


3. Analytical Skills and Proposal Development:
Utilize strong analytical skills and technical knowledge to prepare, develop, and review engineering proposals and schedules.
Support production builds in Alliance plants, ensuring the resolution of key concerns through trials, safe launches, and evaluations.


4. Cost and Quality Management:
Promote and coordinate cost reduction activities to achieve vehicle cost targets.
Support initiatives for quality/customer satisfaction improvement.
Propose and support knowledge sharing and process improvement activities within the department.


Qualifications & Experience:


Engineering Degree
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in the automotive or a related industry.
Strong attention to detail, clear and precise reporting skills, and confidence in presenting to senior management.
Experience in vehicle development with a thorough understanding of the development process.
Proven stakeholder management and project management skills, encompassing digital and physical development, and technical concern analysis.
Ability to effectively manage multiple complex work streams.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Previous experience in project cost management.
