Main Purpose of the Digital Learning Designer role:

As a Digital Learning Developer, you will be an expert in Instructional Design, Learning Design, Learning Experience Design, accessibility and eLearning.

You will use this expertise to advise and support the organisation in delivery of their digital product roadmaps and strategy.

Innovation is at the forefront of the role; we must remain ahead of the competition, ensuring innovative futureproofed digital learning solutions are offered to our clients.

As the Digital Learning Developer, you will:

  • Be responsible for the design of new digital learning solutions or maintenance/redesign of existing solutions.
  • Be responsible for the administration of LMS systems/content web players.
  • Be responsible for production of proposals and ID documentation for individual learning solutions and large-scale projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the product team to maximise the revenue potential of all of Mercia's products and services.
  • Ensure a joined up digital strategy across the differing product areas.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis in the digital learning space and feed this into the Product roadmap.
  • Oversee the project management of any digital learning solution implementations.
  • Supporting relations with software partners and vendors.

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • To have a wealth of experience in eLearning and web-based learning solutions.
  • To have a strong understanding of pedagogy and training/educational theories, such as the training cycle, ADDIE, Maslow, Demming etc.
  • To be an expert in Instructional Design and have an understanding of UI/UX within eLearning.
  • Have a strong understanding of eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise 360, Adobe Captivate and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Be an expert on digital learning solutions with the passion and desire to stay up to speed with technological developments and always be planning, ensuring client excellence.
  • Strong Project Management skills: ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management: the role will involve working collaboratively with Product Managers and other key internal stakeholders such as IT and Sales.
  • To have the ability to thoroughly QA digital learning solutions following a structured process.
  • To be able to work on your own initiative, and be accountable for management and planning of your own time in line with project plans.
  • Be self-sufficient, tech savvy and a quick learner.
  • Be able to work independently and as a member of the wider team.
  • To be client and solutions focused and understanding client s needs.
  • To be passionate about digital learning and full of ideas.
  • To be curious with an attitude of constant learning.
  • To have a strong attention to detail.
  • To have a can-do attitude
  • To be a 'completer finisher'

This person must be prepared to travel and meet clients and attend industry events.
