p>We currently have an opening for a Database Administrator to join one of our most prestigious clients on an initial 6 month contract looking to start within the next couple of weeks. The successful candidate will be responsible for building Database systems, monitoring database performance and implementing changes and applying new patches and versions when required. 
Main Responsibilities:
- Managing User access and permissions
- Backup and recovery activate (based on both Oracle Rman and EMC backup tools).
- Project work, advising management on improvements and alternative solutions.
- Monitoring database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
- Proactive and reactive fault resolution
- Maintain Database Security
- Build Database Systems to meet company requirements and to suppliers recommend standards.
- Guide third party team which provide support to ensure the systems have a high availability.
- 24x7 Support operating an on-call Rota.
Main skills required:
- Oracle RDBMS 11.2 and 12.1 version
- RAC 11.2.0.3 (6 node cluster)
- Dataguard version 11.2 and 12.1
- On both Linux and windows platforms
- SQL 2008R2
- SQL 2012
- SQL 2016 and all current SQL edition
- Exposure to AAG support as well as SQL clustering.
