The Data Engineer/ETL Developer will use stakeholder requirements to turn data into critical information and knowledge to support business priorities. Ultimately the Data Engineer will help apply data warehousing principles and methodologies to improve data quality, reporting and analysis across the government client and its wider stakeholders in government and industry.
To do this effectively, you will need to have a technical understanding of data warehousing and be able to contribute to discussions about the technical design with the development team. This role will cover a variety of different business areas and helps support the provision of BI throughout the organisation.
Required Skills/Experience
- Minimum 5 years data warehousing experience
- Excellent understanding of dimensional modelling, specifically Kimball methodology
- MS SQL Server/SSIS
- PL/SQL & T-SQL
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good team player with an appreciation of standardised approaches
- Agile Scrum/Kanban project management
- Jira/Zephyr
Desirable Experience
- Oracle 19c
- XML/Xpath/XQuery
- MS Power BI
- SAP BI
- Geospatial data/systems
You'll be required to be on-site two days per week between the client's location (Westminster) and our location (Charing Cross).
Market Rate (dependent on skills and experience).
You must be eligible to work in the UK and be capable of achieving government security clearance.
