Summary: We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer for a 6-month contract in Austin, Texas, to support a major retail client. The role involves designing and maintaining ETL pipelines, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring data quality and performance. Candidates should have significant experience in data engineering and proficiency in relevant technologies. The position requires a minimum of two days on-site work each week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain robust ETL pipelines from various sources
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver efficient solutions
• Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing to enhance performance and scalability
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, ensuring minimal downtime
• Maintain high data quality, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data
• Support data migration and integration projects as required

Key Skills:

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
• Strong proficiency with SQL and experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Experience with cloud platforms - preferably AWS
• Strong Databricks & Python / Spark experience
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to work on-site a minimum of 2 days per week
