Job Description: The role of Data Architect involves working on transformation programmes, specifically migrating from a legacy Oracle system to Snowflake. The position requires designing high-quality processes and producing enterprise-standard architecture documentation, with a preference for candidates who have experience in complex regulated environments. Insurance industry experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design high-quality and repeatable processes to minimize production issues.
  • Produce enterprise-standard architecture documentation.
  • Work on migration from legacy Oracle systems to Snowflake.
  • Implement data architecture within an enterprise-scale organization.
  • Automate CICD pipelines across various technologies including Power BI, Snowflake, and Azure Data Stack.
  • Design data models for operational and management information reporting.
  • Stay updated on new and emerging data technologies and trends.
  • Understand and implement data governance concepts.

Skills Required:

  • Data Architecture experience in an enterprise-scale organization.
  • Technical exposure to a range of technologies and architectural best practices.
  • Expertise in Snowflake with hands-on data modeling experience.
  • Experience with MS Azure Data Stack (Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, Azure ML, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of data science, analytics, and reporting design.
  • Understanding of operational data management and analytics.
  • Exposure to data governance concepts (Data Quality, Data Management, Data Lineage, Data Security).

Salary (Rate): £1000 daily

My client is looking for a Data Architect that has experience of working on transformation programmes to join them on an initial 6 month contract. The Data Architect will be working on a migration from a legacy Oracle system to Snowflake and previous experience of working on similar data programmes is needed. You will be responsible for designing high quality and repeatable processes that result in low levels of production issues and produce enterprise standard architecture documentation. Insurance industry experience would be nice to have but not essential but must have previous experience of working within complex regulated environments on an enterprise scale.

Skills & experience needed;

  • Data Architecture experience working within an enterprise scale organisation
  • Technical exposure to and/or experience in a range of technologies and architectural best practice concepts, specifically Data Engineering Design
  • Snowflake expert with hands-on experience of data modelling and best practises
  • MS Azure Data Stack - Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, Azure ML, Power BI
  • Automation of CICD pipelines across different technologies including Power BI, Snowflake and the Azure Data Stack
  • Data Science, Analytics & Reporting Design
  • Understanding of implementations for Operational (near real time data management and analytics) and MI (‘aged’ data) data modelling and reporting
  • Exposure and passion for new and emerging data technologies and trends
  • Exposure to concepts of Data Governance (e.g. Data Quality, Data Management, Data Lineage, Data Lifecycle Management, Data Security)

Please note this role has been deemed inside IR35 paying £850-£1000 per day and requires someone to be able to go onsite approx once a week. Either Manchester, London or Brighton
