The team plays a vital role in fostering debate and influencing the future energy landscape. Your role involves actively contributing to shaping the process by supporting the development of detailed techno-economic models of the GB energy system across various energy vectors. These models form the backbone of our future energy scenarios.
Key Responsibilities:
Using a Pan-European market model within PLEXOS to evaluate comprehensive energy scenarios for GB and Europe. This includes assessing the economics of electricity and hydrogen production, as well as analysing the provision of flexibility through factors like interconnectors, storage, and demand-side response.
Identifying areas for modelling improvement and sharing best practices within the team.
Leveraging insights into future generation capacities connected to electricity transmission and distribution networks. Model how these technologies will be dispatched hour-by-hour, contributing to the annual Future Energy Scenarios publication.
Supporting the development of a model database within PLEXOS, serving as a crucial input for other business processes within the organization.
