The successful candidate will be part of a small but highly performing in-house legal team, reporting directly to the Monitoring Officer. They will be responsible for actively managing the contract forward plan and working closely with instructing officers and procurement colleagues.
ROLE: Contracts and Procurement Lawyer
LOCATION: South Wales - hybrid/remote working
RATE: 45- 55ph
CONTRACT LENGTH: 3 months ongoing
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on contracts and procurement matters
- Handle your own contracts and procurement caseload from start to completion
- Work closely with instructing officers and procurement colleagues
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
Requirements
- A qualified Solicitor/Barrister or Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in contracts and procurement law
- Experience of working in a Welsh local authority or combined authority would be helpful but is not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
