Summary: The Contracts Analyst role at Scottish Power Transmission involves financial and business analysis to support the company's capital investment program. The position requires strong performance tracking and reporting, with responsibilities including data analysis, report generation, and collaboration with various business units. The role is hybrid, requiring attendance at the office 2-3 days a week, and is classified as inside IR35 for an initial 12-month contract. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s financial and contract management governance policies and procedures
- Analyse spend across the major project framework portfolio, highlighting actual or projected variances against authorised budget and forecast
- Collate data from a range of business systems to provide concise summary reports of the current financial and performance position
- Consolidate and produce weekly and monthly business performance statistics to monitor and actively track trends in key business performance data
- Produce reporting for senior managers associated with major project framework portfolio and purchasing plans
- Support the Contract Manager in driving business performance
- Liaise with the Major Projects Business Units and wider business
- Carry out updates and administration tasks associated with various systems, databases, and spreadsheets used within contract management process
- Assist in the development of new procedures associated with contract management and participate in process improvement projects
- Work may require attendance at other Scottish Power locations
- Ability to work unsupervised on a number of tasks after training
Key Skills:
- Experience of financial governance practices within a large industrial or commercial organisation
- Formal training and qualifications in financial/contract management, data analysis, or related discipline
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email
- Proficient in business IT applications; experience with SAP is beneficial
- General appreciation of contract management practices and principles
- Ability to form effective working relationships with individuals, departments, and businesses
- Motivated with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to plan work to balance emergent issues with longer-term objectives
