Summary: The Construction Manager will serve as Network Rail's site representative, ensuring that contractor activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant standards. The role involves monitoring site activities, reviewing method statements, and maintaining communication with Network Rail personnel. The position requires regular site visits and inspections to uphold work quality and environmental standards. The role is based in Manchester with site visits across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor site activities for compliance with GRIP or PACE, relevant regulations, and Network Rail standards.
  • Review contractor’s method statements and site-specific risk assessments with the Protection Engineer.
  • Liaise with Network Rail personnel to ensure efficient work arrangements are in place.
  • Conduct regular site meetings to establish work details and monitor contractor management.
  • Perform site visits and inspections to compare progress with contract documentation and overall programme.
  • Maintain a frequent site presence, monitor work standards, and keep a site diary.
  • Provide functional support to Project Managers as directed.
