Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a Connected Car TCU Design Engineer (New Product Development) for a 12-month contract, and the role comes with a umbrella rate of up to 45.00 per hour (PAYE; IR35). Note: we cannot work with candidates that require visa sponsorship.
As a Connected Car TCU Design Engineer, you will develop in-vehicle telematics systems for products sold across the AMEIO region. You will also manage Tier 1 suppliers to deliver products to Quality, Cost and Timing targets.
To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the areas you could expect to be working in:
- Component development schedule creation and management against project timelines
- Cost optimisation idea generation and implementation, and telematics feature development
- Component and system design reviews
- Coordination of in-house and supplier TCU validation to design standards ahead of new software releases.
To apply for this Connected Car Test Engineer role, you will need proven experience in automotive electrical and electronic development or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience on a major development programme. You will also require the following:
- Understanding and experience of telematics system development
- Experience managing Tier 1 suppliers in the development of complex electronic products
- Understanding of IOT and vehicle level protocols
- Experience liaising with 3rd party telematic service providers and MNOs and coordinating complex BOM releases.
