About the role
Astute's Power Division are partnering with a leading EPC Contractor in the UK Power Industry. We are currently recruiting for a Completions Manager to join their team on the new build Waste to Energy facility based in Chester for initially 12 months.

Key responsibilities for the Completions Manager positions:

  • Focus on developing and updating commissioning and start-up planning deliverables for company.
  • Manage, prepare, execute and/or monitor preparation, planning, and execution of systems completion activities by site teams and contractors.
  • Manage the development of systems completion plans including but not limited to process system boundaries, sequence and priorities, P&IDS markups, procedures, schedules, plans, check sheets, fishbone diagrams, skylines, work packs, TCPS, etc.
  • Steward to project management teams data verification of systems completion database to ensure all required components and necessary check sheets are included.
  • Enforce management of change to maintain the database in line with approved design changes.
  • Verify that commissioning activities are thoroughly planned and adequately staffed in order to support safe execution of all completions and common projects in the U.S.
  • Develop and steward regular updating of project commissioning and start-up fishbones, skylines, and schedules.
  • Manage with project teams the validation of planning deliverables with discipline specialists and site commissioning manager.
  • Support site commissioning managers in:
  • Development of project teams KPI's with regards to systems completion.
  • Development of regular systems completion reports during planning and execution phases.
  • Provision of system completion data to the project team.
  • Track completion of systems completion deliverables.
  • Monitor project sites overall site construction and commissioning priorities by system to ensure project teams meet mechanical completion and commissioning target dates.
  • Develop and maintain Project Skyline and Milestone Reporting.
  • Monitor Project site teams Test Pack completion metrics and identify/analyze areas for improvement in efficiency.
  • Ensure Report Turnover progress from site Commissioning Manager and Start-up Manager.
  • Set up, manage, and report turnover metrics such as check-sheet progress, plan, actual and outstanding punch list items, etc.
  • Ensure project teams are monitoring preservation performance and maintenance activities by subsystem to ensure client project requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain a planning tool for Company's Project Teams daily witnessing activities and ensure assignment of Company's project personnel to each activity.
  • Oversee, review, and approve all development of detailed start-up schedules and ensure project teams update throughout the start-up phases at a daily activity level.
  • Support start-up site management teams development of daily reports including activities, completed, planned, as well as metrics on operations such as consumables and capacity levels.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelors's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Experience with Mechanical, rotating Machinery, Electrical Telecoms, and instrumentation.
  • Database set-up project experience.
  • CSCS card


Location, remuneration, and timeframe of the Completions Managers role:

  • Chester
  • 500.00 to 550.00 per day (OUTSIDE IR35)
  • February 2024 start date for 12 months
