Job Title: Community Highway Officer
Location: West Midlands, Local Authority
Contract: 4-months, extension likely
Pay: Inside IR35 - 18 per hour
Our client, a local authority in the West Midlands, is seeking a skilled and versatile Community Highway Officer to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity for someone with Highways experience to work in communities, providing advice on Highway matters. Alternatively, if you are an excellent letter writer, you could contribute by preparing appropriate responses to inquiries from Members of Parliament, utilizing Highways information provided by existing team members. Hybrid working is acceptable on occasion, but the candidate must be able to work within the Staffordshire area.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with communities, providing expert advice on Highway matters.
- Prepare well-crafted and informative responses to inquiries, including those from Members of Parliament, using Highways information from the existing team.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills in all interactions.
- Undertake associated administrative tasks efficiently.
- Utilize your ability to interrogate databases for gathering and analyzing relevant information.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Highways services is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively engage with communities and stakeholders.
- Strong letter writing skills to prepare articulate and informative responses.
- An awareness of highway services is desirable, with scripts and support available for assistance.
- Willingness to undertake associated admin tasks efficiently.
- Ability to interrogate databases for gathering and analyzing information.
