We are recruiting a PEC Cost engineer for Body in White (BIW) for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield. You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company.
This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities of PEC Cost engineer for Body in White (BIW):
Support the current permanent BIW cost engineers based both in the UK and Spain in Cost estimation for component piece cost and vendor tooling for Body In White components .
Support Budget setting for full and minor change programs.
Support the management team for BIW in achieving the section objectives for FY23.
Validation of cost reduction
Working cross functionally with the PDT teams
Support the PDT in negotiation with the suppliers (This may require travel to the suppliers facilities).
Achieve - cost avoidance target
Support the department in delivering the KPI s doing Design change note costing in line with project requirements.
Qualifications & Experience for the PEC Cost engineer for Body in White (BIW):
Design / engineering qualification
CAD interrogation skills
Time management skills
Microsoft office
Previous experience gained within a press /welding shop manufacturing environment. min 6 years
