We are looking for a Capital Project Manager for a growing Public Sector organisation. The role involves assisting the Associate Director for Capital Development by providing expert advice on Estates design and managing construction projects. The assignment is initially for 6 months but could be extended or become permanent. The client has asked for someone to start straight away



Role:



The Capital Project Manager will suit an experienced candidate who can add real value across a range of services.




  • Being the main contact for managing the Capital programs.

  • Proactively handling multiple projects, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.

  • Good communicator, approachable, can engage well with others to gain trust and respect.

  • Previous experience in engaging stakeholders, leading project meetings, managing budgets, implementing procurement processes, handling project team appointments, contract administration, and program management.

  • Can manage consultants, contractors, stakeholders and other suppliers.

  • Regular reporting needs to be consistent and accurate and to follow gateway processes.

  • Public sector experience preferred (but any complex estates/capital experience would be considered.



Person:



The successful candidate will have




  • Proven track record in performance of Capital Project Management delivery against tight deadlines with the ability to work objectively and ethically when under pressure.

  • Experience in capital construction project management.

  • Experience in working within Public Sector Organisations. (NHS, Councils and Education Authorities)
