Castlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a large public sector organisation who are looking to recruit a Capital Accountant on a interim basis for 3-6 months which will be based in West Yorkshire. The role will be paying between 180- 260 per day umbrella.



Role:




  •  Preparation of monthly capital monitoring information (including cash flow management and forecasting)

  • The post holder will work with both the responsible division and the capital budget holders of the organisation to determine the performance of current capital schemes and in the case of any problems being highlighted, suggest and implement plans to rectify the situation

  • Experience in work with IFRS16 and also knowledge of the RAM System

  • This will include the explanation of the complex capital financial regime to both finance and no finance staff

  • Financial input into capital business cases in liaison with relevant Managers, this will mean calculating the capital costs of each scheme ensuring that these costs form part of the organisation and charitable financial planning processes

  • Completion of the fixed asset note to the annual accounts including the completion of capital expenditure figures and commitments for the charitable fund accounts

  • Assist in the completion of the capital charges estimate, this will also include calculating any impact on the income and expenditure position of potential impairments \ accelerated depreciation changes

  • Assist with the production of high-quality and accurate working papers for internal and external audit as required

  • Preparation of monthly capital monitoring information (including cash flow management and forecasting)



The successful applicant will have:




  • Have an advanced understanding of financial management and financial accounting principles

  • Understand and be able to interpret relevant accounting standards and other guidance

  • Extensive experience of Financial Accounting and Financial Management in a large organisation

  • Experience of financial monitoring and challenge of capital and revenue expenditure, budgets, and forecasts (including leased assets and equipment)

  • Experience of computerised financial systems

  • Experience of managing, motivating and developing staff

  • Possess a robust understanding of financial and activity
