Job Specification

The Advance Materials COE Capture Team require a Business Architect to support the capture of the opportunity, through to mobilisation, post contract award. The Business Architect will be responsible for:

• The enterprise business solution - understanding the customer problem, strategy to resolve and ensuring the solution meets the customer needs/ requirements and budget
• Consider all aspects of the solution including technical (With support from Technical specialists), business, commercial, project (With PM support) and security
• Balancing the trade-off between additional features that are differentiators and affordability to the customer
• Work with the Project Manager, Technical leads and capture team to ensure the solution is deliverable

The Business Architect needs to:

• Build the solution with consideration of internal and external factors
• Analyse the technology industry, competitors and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the solution
• Identify the organisational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impact
• Factor in risk into the solution design
• Own the solution overview
• Own the compliancy matrix, report and resolve any areas of non-compliancy
• Create the high-level design
• Liaise within the company and suppliers to ensure the solution is deliverable
• Be able to present the solution externally
• Work with cost modellers and estimators to build the financials associated with the solution

Must have skills:

• Business architecture
• Solution architecture
• Written and verbal communication skills, able to present data and findings to stakeholders in an impactful way

Desirable skills:

• Enterprise architecture
• Advanced materials domain expertise is not mandated but would be a bonus
• An understanding of Agile practices and the impact on solution design and delivery
