Availability and Capacity Manager
Location: Bristol (Full Time onsite)
Duration: Contract until March 31, 2025,
Rate - Inside IR35 650 per day (DOE)
Security Clearance: SC Required prior to work commencing
Role Summary: As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the Availability and Capacity Management process. The position entails overseeing greenfield Infrastructure platforms, ensuring that technical changes align with established processes and utilizing appropriate tools. This role is tailored for individuals who thrive on innovation, excel in detailed system analysis, and are committed to delivering sophisticated technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Availability Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to monitor, measure, and enhance IT service availability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align service availability with business needs.
- Conduct regular availability reviews and provide insightful reports for management.
Capacity Management:
- Oversee capacity planning activities to ensure our IT infrastructure supports current and future demands.
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend upgrades for optimal performance.
- Work closely with teams to forecast service usage and plan for scalability.
Incident and Problem Management:
- Prioritize incidents related to availability and capacity issues for timely resolution.
- Collaborate with Problem Management teams to investigate root causes and optimize system performance.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish robust monitoring mechanisms for tracking service metrics.
- Generate regular performance reports, presenting insights to stakeholders and management.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management:
- Engage with external stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to evaluate performance in relation to availability and capacity management.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as an Availability and Capacity Manager, preferably within Government or large-scale organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of the ITIL framework and its role in Availability and Capacity management.
- Proficient in IT infrastructure technologies, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to driving solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, committed to deadlines and delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Demonstrable sector knowledge or experience within UK Defence (Army, Air force, or Royal Navy).
- Ability to hold a minimum of UK Security Clearance (SC).
- Hold a UK Driving License and a willingness to travel to client sites.
