Job description
Butler Rose Public Practice have been appointed by our client, a leading Top 20 accountancy firm with ultra-modern offices based in Southampton, who are now eager to appoint an ambitious, highly qualified and experienced Audit Manager to take ownership of their SME client portfolio offering a full range of audit services.
Role Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Head of Audit, the role of Audit Manager will lead and manage a team of audit professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure high-quality work output and professional development.
Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Review and analyse audit working papers, financial statements, and related documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to best practices.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and providing expert guidance on accounting and audit matters.
Identify opportunities to improve client processes, internal controls, and overall business performance.
Stay up-to-date with changes in auditing standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure the team is well-informed and trained accordingly.
Collaborate with partners and senior management on business development initiatives, including proposals and client presentations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent, with a strong academic background.
Proven experience in managing and leading audit engagements, ideally within a medium sized UK based firm.
Thorough knowledge of auditing and accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS and FRS102) and applicable regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently and effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple engagements and prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency in using audit software such as CCH and Microsoft Office suite.
Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
What's being offered:
A competitive salary range of 55,000 to 70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the firm provide an attractive benefits package, including pension, private healthcare, and opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
