p>An After School Club Assistant position has come up in a primary school in Walsall. This is your opportunity to be apart of a loving school s team.

To be successful for this role, you should be able to lead and be responsible for the day to day organisation of the After School provision. Providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 3- 11 years old in a safe and secure environment. You must hold a qualification relating to be a teaching assistant or childcare.

Working hours are 3.00pm-5:15pm Monday to Friday term time.

It is essential that you have/are the following:

  • 6 months + experience in a previous Primary School
  • The enthusiasm to work with children with a variety of different personalities and skill levels
  • A strong, confident individual who can take control of a classroom
  • Able to engage well with pupils and staff
  • Able to work under your own initiative
  • Smartly presented and with excellent time management skills.

You should also be able to carry out these mentioned tasks:

  • To lead the day to day management and organisation of the After-School Club.
  • Work with all staff to ensure and provide care, play opportunities and activities in a homely. nurturing, and safe environment, with regard to the individual development needs of the children.
  • Liaise with the school with regard to the needs of the children who attend the club.
  • To liaise with parents to encourage parental involvement and support of the After School Club.
  • Plan and develop activities for the children.
  • To create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children.
  • To be reliable and punctual, maintaining staffing ratios at all times.
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality in a school and maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • To develop genuine bonds with the children and support colleagues to sensitively fulfil their responsibilities.
  • Have a good understanding of safeguarding in a school.
  • Be able to administer first aid.
