ADAS Radar Application Engineer
Our automotive OEM Client based in Dunton, Essex in the United Kingdom are searching for an ADAS Radar Application Engineer to join their innovative design and engineering team. This position is confirmed as Inside IR35 and therefore will be subject to full PAYE tax. Details of this can be provided on request.
The position is listed with open negotiation, which means we can submit candidates with their salary expectations as there is no fixed remuneration, therefore we request candidates to submit their desired salary with their application where possible.
This is a 12-month contract with possibility of extension. The working pattern is 37 hours per working week and our Client are open to hybrid working discussions.
Position Description
This is an opportunity for an ADAS Radar Application Engineer, responsible for leading the development and delivery of ADAS Technology Applications within the scope of EU, EV, and CV programmes. In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting feature definition for new programme content, collaborating closely with Planning, Marketing, and Program Management to establish compelling business cases for emerging DAT technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering tasks to support GPDS milestones and gateways: design, develop, release, test and launch content to meet specification requirements and program targets.
- Source and lead commodity suppliers to project manage commitments and delivery.
- Lead ADAS hardware and sensors interface compatibility and trade-off studies.
- Develop and capture new EV, Transit and Commercial Vehicle customer specific requirements.
- Ensure that assigned systems, components, attributes, deliverables comply with regulatory and safety requirements.
- Support packaging of parts to meet CAD and CAE requirements.
- Plan, coordinate and test design verification and sign-off testing at component and vehicle level.
- Define and support target setting for program objectives (attributes, cost, quality, and timing).
- Ensure adequate specifications and quality records are defined and maintained.
- Support launches and prototype builds resolving issues for vehicle assembly and production.
- Support systems, manufacturing, diagnostics, and end of line compatibility.
- Use lessons learnt, and FMA process for continuous improvement.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of Product Development System and Tools and Processes: VSEM, GPDS, eFDVS, AVBOM, WERS, AIMS, Teamcenter.
Experience Required
- Experience in electrical or electronic systems, hardware and/or software development and Project Management.
- PD processes, design methodologies, software, and requirements management.
Experience Preferred
- Systems engineering, vehicle testing, automotive electronics.
Education Required
- Relevant Automotive, or Engineering degree.
- Driver Licence.
