Our client Lloyds Banking Group is a leading UK based financial services group providing a wide range of banking and financial services, focused on personal and commercial customers. On behalf of Lloyds Banking Group, AMS are looking for an Actuarial Developer for an initial contract length of 6 months on a hybrid basis with offices in either Bristol, Halifax, Edinburgh or Leeds (2 days/week in office).

Purpose of the Role:

The role sits in the Actuarial Change team, which is part of IP&I Finance. It offers the opportunity for design, build and test of R models and spreadsheets associated with the modelling of assets. Specifically this includes bonds, derivatives and illiquid assets. The models are used for base and stress valuations and also to determine the matching adjustment & illiquidity premium.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Work on a series of model developments throughout an assignment.
  • Discuss change requirements with Product Owners to ensure they are understood before build work commences.
  • Agree test and acceptance criteria ahead of build work.
  • Develop & test models/spreadsheets in line with agreed approach.
  • Regular review points during the development to ensure work remains on right track.
  • Share results with key customers at "Show & Tell" sessions.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation that details the change, test approach, results and any limitations.
  • Work with team to integrate changes ready for quarterly model releases.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Proven experience as an Actuarial Developer/Analyst in a similar organisation.
  • Experience in Object Oriented programming.
  • Experience coding in R.
  • Experience in the use of Git.
  • Knowledge of asset valuations and methodologies/approaches to determine matching adjustment and illiquidity premium would be advantageous.
