Macildowie is delighted to partner with a prominent and respected business in Enderby, currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Temporary Accounts Payable Team Leader to join their dynamic finance team.

About the Role: This is an excellent opportunity to play a crucial leadership role in our Accounts Payable operation, reporting directly to the Accounts Payable Manager. As the Temporary Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of Accounts Payable Clerks, ensuring the day-to-day efficiency of the department. This role involves maintaining a high level of accuracy in the work delivered, supporting key business projects, and managing a growing supplier base comprising over 3,500 active suppliers.

  • 6 Months Temporary assignment with a possible extension
  • Office Based 9:00 - 5:00
  • Up to 17ph

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Provide effective leadership to the Accounts Payable team, ensuring they are motivated, engaged, and meeting performance expectations.
  • Ownership of the Purchase Ledger: Take ownership of the entire purchase ledger process, from receiving invoices to the final payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Cash Flow Management: Actively contribute to the effective management of cash flow, optimizing payment terms and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  • Dispute Resolution: Proactively address and resolve disputes with suppliers, demonstrating strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Invoice Query Resolution: Take the lead in resolving complex invoice queries, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Work: Collaborate proactively within the team to ensure the smooth processing of the purchase ledger, fostering a positive and efficient working environment.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Proven leadership and team management experience within accounts, with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards shared goals.
  • Proactive and highly organized with strong time management and planning skills.
  • Proficient in using computer applications and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties.
  • Observant and resourceful with a methodical approach.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and able to meet challenges.
  • Prior experience in a similar leadership role utilizing similar skills.
