Role Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and experienced Interim Accounts Payable Manager to join our dynamic team in the Leicester area. This is a critical role within our finance department, where you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the Accounts Payable function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 4-5 Accounts Payable professionals, ensuring effective team performance and development.
  • Oversee the processing of hundreds of millions of invoices, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Implement and maintain robust AP processes and systems to handle high-volume invoice processing.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline AP processes and enhance the overall financial operation.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve AP operations and contribute to the financial stability of the company.
  • Prepare and present reports on AP activities, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
  • Manage vendor relationships and handle escalated issues related to payments and invoicing.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in AP software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Relevant finance/accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, AAT) is preferred.
