Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be partnering with a leading Scottish institution to recruit an Accounting Manager on an initial contract basis until the end of September 2024. Our client are seeking a qualified accountant with experience managing a team to support with an increase in workload. On offer is a salary of up to 54,000 plus excellent benefits on a 35 hour working week. Ideally we are seeking candidates available immediately or on short notice.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 3 with responsibility for financial accounting and treasury within the department and have overall responsibility for all ledgers within Finance
- Responsible for the preparation of the annual Financial Statements ensuring compliance with the statutory responsibilities
- Responsible for the planning of and key lead during the interim and final external audits, including overseeing the relationship with external auditors.
- Ensuring that all systems, policies and requirements are reviewed as required to meet the changing needs of the organisation.
- Manage all monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain journal entry log.
- Lead changes to systems as required to maximise efficiencies in finance processes and reporting.
- Oversee taxation policy and quarterly VAT returns.
- Responsible for Treasury function.
Previous Experience
- Qualified or Qualified by Experience Accountant with strong industry background
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience of preparing financial statements, ideally to FRS 102
- Experience in process improvement
